The Women, Children and Youth Initiative (WCAYI) was privileged to participate in a two-day capacity-building training designed to orient Women-Led Organizations (WLOs) on the programme cycle and strengthen their capacity to meaningfully engage at different stages of programme implementation.
The training provided an important opportunity to deepen our knowledge and practical skills in key areas, including:
- Identifying protection risks within communities
- Listening to communities and understanding their priorities
- Providing timely and relevant information
- Promoting safe, inclusive and meaningful participation
- Making appropriate referrals to available services and support mechanisms
These skills are essential in ensuring that humanitarian programmes remain inclusive, accountable, responsive and centred on the needs and voices of communities.
WCAYI sincerely appreciates UNHCR for this valuable opportunity and for its continued investment in strengthening the capacity of Women-Led Organizations to contribute meaningfully to humanitarian programming.
Together, we can strengthen community voices and promote more inclusive and accountable humanitarian action.
