As schools in Obongi District – Palorinya Refugee Settlement and surrounding host communities prepare to reopen, a targeted and sustained dialogue session was held with girls aged 13–17 years on 3 February 2026.
On December 8th, 2025, the Women, Children, and Youth Initiative Obongi conducted four community feedback sessions, engaging diverse members of the community including women, men, boys, and girls from both refugee and host communities.
We successfully conducted two life skills sessions in local secondary schools, reaching out to students with engaging and interactive activities designed to nurture essential personal and social skills. The sessions focused on decision-making, self-esteem communication, and self-awareness key areas
We commemorated the International Day of the Girl Child under the global theme “The Girl I’m, The Change I Lead,” with our sub-theme “From Learning to Certification: Every Step Matters.”
