Psychosocial Support
The Women, Children and Youth Initiative (WCAYI) provides structured, community-based psychosocial support to strengthen mental health, emotional well-being, and resilience among refugee and host communities in Palorinya Refugee Settlement and Obongi District.
Services are delivered through trained local counselors and para-counselors, ensuring accessibility, trust, and cultural sensitivity.
Our Psychosocial Interventions
- Group therapy sessions for children, adolescents, and adults to promote healing and peer support
- Art therapy and recreational activities that provide safe spaces for self-expression and emotional recovery
- Women’s support groups focusing on stress management, peer support, and resilience-building
- Youth-focused sessions emphasizing coping skills, life skills, leadership, and positive identity
- Psychological First Aid (PFA) in emergency and high-stress contexts to address acute trauma and emotional distress.
Through these integrated approaches, WCAYI strengthens:
